This year we'll be presenting a rain barrel workshop at the Detroit Bioneers Conference!
In addition, we'll be manning a booth at the conference to talk about our organization, talk about lasagna gardening, junk mail, and a number of other topics we all know so well!
The conference will be at Marygrove College in Detroit, and the dates are October 19-21.
We will be doing the rain barrel workshop on Saturday, October 20, and will man the booth all 3 days.
Rain Barrel Workshop
Singing in the Rain: Making and Using Rain Barrels (HO/E)
The title says it all. Learn how to make and use a rain barrel effectively. Lean why rain barrels are important and how by using them our relationship with water is enhanced. Learn what to tell the neighbors, learn safety considerations. For those able to transport one home, the workshop instructors will put the finishing touches on yours during the day and it will be ready to go! NOTE: There is a $27 materials fee charge ONLY for those who want to take a barrel home with them.
PRESENTERS Brennan has made many rain barrels and written about their uses and construction. Thomas is a Board member of the River Raisin Institute and co-founder of the Great Lakes Green Initiative.
